30 Canadian Students attended Student Exchange Program at LPU
30 Canadian Students attended Student Exchange Program at LPU
- LPU students to visit Mount Royal University under exchange program in January, 2017
- Student exchange program has been running successfully at LPU for the last six years
Following PM Modis massive endeavours for making yoga a mass movement across continents, visiting students were given important instructions about Yoga and made to know about the health benefits through it. In addition, students learnt about classical/folk dances including Kathak & Bhangra, Hindi and Punjabi languages, typical Indian games including Kho-Kho, Indian singing patterns, how to cook Indian food and more. They also visited an NGO at Jalandhar to realize and imbibe sympathetic vehemence in India.
It was amazing to see Canadian students using addressing words Nomestay and Sat Sri Akal commonly while in conversation with local people and students. LPU Executive Dean of the Faculty of Technology & Sciences Dr Lovi Raj Gupta and Director Division of International Affairs Mr Aman Mittal also addressed the students to broaden their visions.
Many of LPU students will also go to Birmingham City University (BCU) in England within some days under such a program. Such an opportunity provides international exposure and experience to the participating students by studying in a completely new environment. Moreover, students get a coveted chance to learn a lot about latest skills. Under these programs students attend workshops related to their program, and visit the industries to experience work-culture there. Students also imbibe customs, culture and traditions of the country visited by enjoying fun-filled short trips and cultural programs. All of these efforts help students to get groomed to further emerge as truly global citizens.
One of the visiting students Jennifer Janice Dorozio said: We are very happy that our university chose LPU and Punjab for this exchange program. On reaching here we have learnt much about India, Indians and Indias rich culture. This is indeed a memorable learning expedition of my life. I will never forget this visit, as the Punjabi hospitality we received here could not be anywhere in the world.
